Hailed by the media as the millennial version of Betty Crocker, the company has garnered profiles in USA Today, Wall Street Journal, Forbes, Fortune, SF Chronicle, Vogue, Food and Wine, InStyle, and more. The company was first to market with organic ready-to-use frostings, and has gained distributed in over 2000 stores in less than one year. The current product line includes six varieties of organic ready-to-use frostings and six varieties of organic baking mixes.

DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS

This role will direct seamless execution of product and process quality to ensure the highest level of customer and consumer satisfaction. P&L responsibilities include: Manufacturing Margin, Warehousing, and Distribution. Position will be involved in all aspects of manufacturing, new product development, commercialization, as well as day-to-day operations.

Supply Chain

  • Develop and implement plans to significantly reduce COGS across the supply chain
  • Work in conjunction with CEO and sales team to develop accurate S&OP forecasts
  • Develop processes and manage the order processing and fulfillment functions
  • Manage MRP and inventory of all raw materials, packaging, and finished goods
  • Ensure current suppliers have adequate capacity to meet company’s growth trajectory
  • Work with new and existing suppliers to improve the reliability and efficiency of the supply chain
  • Responsible for scale-up and commercialization of all new products
  • Identification of new co-packers as well as raw material and packaging suppliers as needed to ensure both capacity and quality needs are being met
  • Responsible for monthly cost and margin reporting on raw materials, packaging, finished goods, warehousing, and freight
  • Work with Finance to establish additional procedures such as yield tracking at all co-pack facilities

Manufacturing/Quality

  • Responsible for the design and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure that quality standards are met during production
  • Develop and maintain useful raw material, packaging, and finished product specifications
  • Ensure that flawless crisis management procedures are in place and tested
  • Continuously improve all aspects of product quality through regular GMP audits of co-packers, vendors, and distributors
  • Maintain compliance with nutritional labeling and product package claims
  • Maintain/develop all required product certifications (e.g., Non-­GMO Project, Fair Trade, Kosher, etc.)
  • Develop and issue manufacturing instructions for new products and processes

Skills & Knowledge Requirements

Operations/Quality experience in a CPG company. Candidate will need to posses ability to rapidly develop an in-depth knowledge of company products and business operations. The position requires team and individual leadership skills as well as a strong sense of urgency in all matters related to the health of the business.

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering or related discipline with a minimum of 7 years experience

DIRECTOR OF SALES

As a member of the senior management team and the first internal sales hire, this individual will have an active an integral role in the development of the company’s sales organization, in addition to driving the growth and overall strategy of the company.

Responsibilities

  • Lead planning, development and goal setting by channel, category and customer in conjunction with our sales management firm and other senior management members
  • Manage our sales management firm and national broker team to ensure delivery of business objectives through distribution growth, proper placement, and strategic market share gains
  • Plan, manage, and negotiate spending to deliver the brand financial objectives within established budget constraints
  • Analyze, monitor, and report on sales by channel, category and customer on a weekly basis, problem-solving and trouble-shooting as problems arise
  • Coordinate with operations to manage the forecast, production, and in-stock levels
  • Responsible for the development and delivery of timely sales forecasts, reports and other key metrics related to the company’s business plan
  • Maintain current knowledge of industry trends, competitive conditions, customer needs and opportunities to design and support strategies to capitalize on business development opportunities
  • Conduct store audits (with broker management and/or field sales reps where possible) to ensure merchandising standards are adhered to and promotional programming is being executed
  • Ability to lead, participate in, and facilitate customer and group meetings
  • Constantly strive to improve internal processes and reporting, and act as a mentor to other team members

Skills & Knowledge Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a sales management capacity in the natural/organic food industry
  • Proficiency and love of Nielsen data, Excel, and pivot tables

  • Strong relationships and an excellent reputation with retailers, distributors, and brokers in the natural and conventional channels
  • Expert in syndicated data analysis (IRI, SPINS, retailer portals)

DIGITAL MARKETING MANAGER

As Digital Marketing Manager, you will have a broad range of responsibilities, including managing our digital presence and e-commerce, in addition to partnership, influencer, and event marketing activities. You must be both highly creative and analytical, and will be expected to contribute to our brand and marketing strategy while also creating and maintaining internal processes and reports. It is essential that you have sufficient experience executing the following digital marketing tactics, including but not limited to social media posts and content and ad creation (FB, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest), community management, SEO, SEM, Google Analytics, AdWords. You have a demonstrated track record of measuring and achieving success. You are extremely flexible and enjoy a “high-change” environment where priorities shift from day to day.

Top candidates will have had significant experience managing a diverse set of digital marketing channels, including but not limited to SEO; SEM and display; email marketing; affiliate networks; retargeting; content marketing; website landing pages; organic and paid social media; and loyalty/rewards

Responsibilities:

  • Own all consumer-facing online marketing channels including but not limited to the website, email, social media, advertising, affiliates, and e-commerce storefronts
  • Collaborate with creative to plan and manage the online marketing calendar
  • Manage all brand partnerships, influencer relationships, affiliates, and contests
  • Develop and execute the paid digital advertising program across SEM, display, retargeting, social media (Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest), and affiliates
  • Drive organic audience growth through SEO, content distribution, earned media, and email marketing

Skills & Knowledge Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from a top-tier university
  • 3-5 years of hands-on experience managing a B2C full-stack online marketing program including SEO, SEM, display, social media, retargeting, email, content, and affiliate channels (CPG experience preferred, but not required)
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills; ability to work cross-functionally with creative (design/UX/UI) teams
  • Proficient in Google Analytics including set –up of pixel tracking, goals, funnels, etc.
  • Good understanding of database concepts and marketing automation
  • Experience with user segmentation, lookalike audiences, and predictive targeting
  • Proficient in Excel — you know how to vlookup and pivot
  • Able to create and prioritize goals; monitor key metrics; quantify the successes, opportunities, and impacts of program; and clearly communicate objectives and results

FIELD MARKETING MANAGER

The Field Marketing Manager plays a lead role in managing field and event marketing activation, and collaborates with the marketing and sales teams on creation, implementation and execution of key programs. This position will drive efforts to build our brand through sponsorship/event activation, in-store demos, influencer outreach and partnerships. The ideal candidate will have a strong social network, knowledge of major retailers, promotional opportunities and /or events as well as insights into what makes each market unique.

Event Management

  • Identify, develop and support regional events, partnership initiatives & other marketing opportunities
  • Recruit or work with recruiting firm to develop brand ambassadors in key markets
  • Execute training for brand ambassadors to ensure appropriate knowledge and on-brand execution
  • Generate program plans from the ground up and execute from start to finish
  • Timely planning and reporting on event performance and budget

In-store Activation

  • Adapt national strategies and marketing messages for in-store activation
  • Schedule and organize in-store demos, including staffing and products/materials
  • Support retail activations as needed, help identify opportunities for participating in retailer events
  • Leverage coupons and samples to drive trial
  • Report competitive activity on a monthly basis
  • Generate regular reports on activations and ROI

Influencer Outreach

  • Work with the marketing team to identify influencers in key markets and possible partnership opportunities
  • Coordinate with influencers in key markets to host branded events and support with social media posts

Skills & Knowledge Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience within field marketing/sales, if possible with a small or newly launched brand
  • BA/BS degree. Marketing, Communication or Business degree preferred
  • Previous CPG experience creating, managing, and measuring ROI for field marketing campaigns
  • Strong ability in project management, scheduling and strategic planning

GRAPHIC DESIGNER

Miss Jones Baking Co. is looking for a highly creative conceptual and technically skilled Senior Graphic Designer. The perfect candidate has a strong portfolio of projects in both digital and print mediums (including technical packaging design experience), strong communication skills, and is excited by variety, rapid change, and an entrepreneurial environment. Responsibilities

  • Concept and execute design projects across digital and print mediums, including: web pages, promotions, blog & social media imagery, ads, displays, packaging, product graphics, and pop-up shop design
  • Communicate and collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand project requirements
  • Develop and present multiple design concepts for new initiatives
  • Maintain the visual consistency of the brand through development and maintenance of style guides and templates for outside contributors
  • On-set photography art direction as needed

Skills & Knowledge Requirements

  • Love of food, baking and/or DIY culture BA in Graphic Design or related field, or portfolio based on equivalent experience’
  • Strong typography skills
  • 4-7 years professional experience, preferably in a consumer goods brand
  • Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite
